Home entertainment has advanced at a lightning-fast pace in the last few years, with space-aged advances coming into our home.
Where we once had a huge box in the corner of our living, we now have a sleek, high-quality television to watch and enjoy.
And as TVs got thinner, they got more powerful at the same time – delivering an increasingly high-quality display.
The next step is, of course, three dimensional viewing. 3D TVs have been around for a while now, but there are coming down in price and going up in quality all the time.
Once the preserve of tech-addicts with money to burn, 3D TVs are becoming more accessible to the masses. But what are the best 3D TVs on the market at the moment?
LG 42LW550T
This superb TV is a great example of FPR (Film Patterned Retarder) 3D technology, as opposed to active shutter 3D.
With excellent 3D picture quality, not to mention the load of 3D glasses that come with it, this LG device is well worth considering.
Samsung UE46ES8000
This behemoth of a telly has everything you could possibly imagine. With Smart apps, full HD, and of course 3D capabilities, this Samsung model takes some beating.
The UE46ES8000 does not come cheap, but with so many impressive features packing into such a thin package, it’s worth the remortgage.
Toshiba ZL2
There are plenty of 3D TVs out there to choose from, but none of them can quite live up to the Toshiba ZL2 – a space aged, glasses-free telly.
There have been other glasses-free 3D TVs in the past, but Toshiba has done what the likes of Phillips couldn’t – make it work.
Its face-tracking technology means that it detects where people are in the room, and transmits a 3D signal to each one of them. It costs the best part of £7,000, but you’ll be the only one of your friends to own one.
