VitaMix 5000 Blender
Rating:

We’ve had our Vitamix 5000 blender for 5 months and it cost about £400. We bought it after a fantastic sales pitch. But we use it about 2-3 times a week to mainly make our own juices and smoothies and I make a batch of soup every week. We’ve also used to make chicken stock – it is so powerful it grinds down all the bones (with water added) to make a broth that can be frozen etc. Can be used to grind nuts too.
In your juices you can put in a whole apple because the blades cut through the fibrous material with such ease, so you get more fibre in your diet with less preparation! It is very expensive but by making your own healthy food the money is returned quickly.
Being so powerful it does make quite a noise, but that is to be expected. The jug is extremely strong and easy to clean – just whizz water with a drop of washing up liquid, rinse, and the job is done. It comes with a useful, long wand to push down food that might not be at the top and I’ve not seen such a tool on any other blender.
On the whole a fantastic, technological product.
