Training Gets Easier with the Nike+ SportWatch GPS

Fighting off the post-Christmas flab could soon be a little less daunting as Nike and TomTom team up to create a super-cool GPS sports watch.

The Nike+ SportWatch GPS Powered by TomTom is a brand new running watch, unveiled last week at the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show, that promises to provide athletes with a ‘dynamic’ and ‘motivational’ running experience.

For those who like to know exactly how they are performing when out on a run the Nike+ SportWatch GPS will be ideal as it has a clear, readable interface as it adds a number of great personalisation features to the running experience, that include audible sounds, challenges, run reminders and more.

“The Nike+ SportWatch GPS is a game-changing product that furthers our commitment to provide all athletes with unparalleled motivation and the tools to get better,” said Stefan Olander, VP of Nike Digital Sport.

The Nike+ SportWatch GPS has only three buttons and a Tap Screen for navigation and when you are out pounding the pavements the sophisticated GPS system captures location information while showing you time, distance, pace, and calories burned on an easy-to-read screen featuring a customizable layout. It also has a direct connection to nikeplus.com, the world’s leading running community home to almost 4 million members.

Nikeplus.com is phenomenally popular with runners all over the world and 150 million runs have been logged on the website since it was launched in 2006. The website offers runners GPS mapping, total miles, pace and elevation data for their most recent run.

Some of the unique features on the Nike+ SportWatch include: run reminders that appear after five days if a run has not been logged; Post-run acknowledgement and encouragement; and recognition for when personal records are met when running.

The Nike+ SportWatch GPS is scheduled to be available in retail stores across the UK from 1st April, just in time for any London Marathon runners to get their hands on this exciting gadget
