Titanic 3D – coming to cinemas, blu-ray?

Director James Cameron is proving his love for 3D today with the announcement of a 3D re-release of Titanic.

The 1997 movie, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, and featuring some amazing computer-generated action sequences is being given a complete 3D makeover, costing $18 million, in time for a 6 April 2012 release date. Titanic was, of course, the highest grossing film of all time before being knocked of that perch my Cameron’s own 3D epic, Avatar.

Great cinema on your 3D TV

It’s a pretty safe bet that, like Avatar, the Titanic 3D release will be closely followed by a 3D Blu-Ray version for watching at home on your own 3D TV. On the plus-side, we’ve got a little while to prepare our 3D home cinema to experience the story all over again.
