In June 2010 Samsung Apps were unveiled along with Samsung Wave. There are now over 13,000 apps on the store and they are available in 120 countries.

Samsung Wave (GT-S8500) was the first mobile handset to be released on their very own mobile phone operating system, Samsung Bada.

Samsungs now has six devices supporting Bada, one being the new Samsung Wave 578.

The new handset features Near Field Communication (NFC), a form of technology that allows phone owners to use the mobile to pay for goods in shops and pay for transport fares.

The new Wave 578 phone has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. The device has an LCD screen and keeps users snappy happy with a rear 3.2 mega pixel camera – it records video too!

“The Samsung Wave 578 handset combines sleek design with fantastic features, including super quick WiFi connectivity and NFC, on a really user friendly device,” said Simon Stanford, Managing Director, Mobile, Samsung UK and Ireland.

Supporting 75 languages and with access to the international App Market, the Wave 578 has an integrated Social Networking Service so it connects to popular websites such as Facebbok and Twitter.

And if you don’t tweet or like Facebook then the phone also supports social platforms such as Yahoo! Messenger and Google Talk.

The Samsung Wave 578 will be available in Europe from May 2011
