UK gets world’s fastest broadband from Virgin

Virgin Media already has the country’s fastest internet connection with its ultra-fast 100Mb line. Now it’s created a 1.5Gb line that’s currently being tested in London. That’s 240 times quicker than the national average and the fastest connection in the world. With Virgin’s 100Mb service already reaching a quarter of the country, we hope to see this super-fast line reaching us soon.

Limited Edition Star Wars themed Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 has created a limited edition design and has modelled itself on the much loved Star Wars. The awesomely styled console, unveiled at Comic-Con 2011, forms part of a Kinect Star Wars bundle complete with a custom designed C-3P0 styled controller and the first ever white Kinect. The best news, though, is the preloaded R2 sound effects that blast out when the power is turned on and the disc tray comes out.

It’ll be released in September in America, but is available for pre-order now from selected retailers if you want to be among the first to step into the Star Wars universe.

Bing now available on iPhone, BlackBerry and Android

Bing is now available on the iphone, blackberry and android. Like the desktop version, the web app brings a Bing homepage and you’ll be equipped with quick access to maps, directions, local information as well as image search facilities.

Autosuggest and recent search info have also been integrated. Improvements to its map software includes a split-screen view of a map alongside a list of places or directions. Plus Bing London Journey Planner is now live with sharing features, such as restaurants and bars for you to pass onto your friends and family.

Your smartphone needs to be HTML 5 compatible, which means the new mobile Bing page will only run properly on iOS, BlackBerry 6.0 and Android 2.0 and above.
