Your Mac will come supplied with a programme called “Spotlight.” This is a handy tool which makes it quick and simple to access a particular file, even if you can’t remember the full name!
This is located as a magnifying glass icon in the top right hand corner. You can also open it by pressing one of the command keys (one at either side of the space bar), and then pressing the space bar. The Spotlight search field will then immediately open up.
From here, you can type the name, part of the name, or even a word included in the file you are searching for. The results will then be shown in categories such as documents or images. From here you can select the file you were looking for, without sifting through endless other files on your computer.
