There’s some good news for SIM-free Sony Xperia S owners today as the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update is now available for download!
In a blog post, Sony announced that:
Today, we bring you some exciting news! As planned, we’re now starting our software rollout for Xperia S including, Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0.4 upgrade and new unique media applications.”
So what do you get?
What the update means for Xperia S owners is a whole host of improved features as well as new functionality. Not only this but the update will also include three new Sony Apps – WALKMAN, Album and Movies – which Sony claim is a “completely new way to experience your media”.
Other features include resizable widgets, a ‘recent apps’ area, tabbed internet browsing and a new look lock screen which has been massively improved.
When can i get it?
If your Xperia S is SIM-free, you can go and download the update right now! Otherwise, if you’re locked into a mobile network, you’ll have to wait a lil bit longer as Sony have warned that it will be a gradual roll-out.
Users will be able to update using Sony’s online Xperia Update center, PC Companion or Bridge for Mac.
