Sony PS Vita countdown: games we want to see

Gamers everywhere, rejoice! The PS Vita is so close we can almost touch it. We are now in February, the same month that Sony’s latest handheld is to be released.

It is going to be a great device, and when it comes to games we are really being spoilt. Sales in Japan may not have been quite to Sony’s liking, but the gaming giant can expect a decent uptake when the console is released worldwide in a few weeks.

When it comes to specs, it’s hard to fault the Vita. It has it all – a powerful CPU, impressive high-res touchscreen and even front and rear cameras.

And with the games it is no different. We have FIFA Football, LittleBigPlanet, and Uncharted: Golden Abyss to name but a few.

But what other games would we like to see make the transition to on-the-go gaming? Here is our pick of the games that should, and could, appear on the Vita.

The first GTA title in what seems like a lifetime is due out later this year. All we’ve had so far is a very vague trailer set in San Andreas, but you know this game is going to be great.

We know this is going to be a monster of a game, and what better way to test the Vita’s capabilities than the world of GTA?

Call of Duty

We know a COD title is coming to the Vita at some point, we just don’t know when. But it will surely be a case of sooner rather than later, given the popularity of the series.

The Vita’s touchscreen almost feels like it was designed with COD in mind. Just think of the possibilities, from pointing to air strike targets to dragging and dropping weapons.

Star Wars

Whether it’s a remake of an existing title, a sequel to Battlefront or an entirely new game altogether, a Star Wars title would work perfectly on the Vita.
