It is the biggest tech battle of the year and it hasn’t even started yet. The head-to-head between Samsung and Apple may still be a couple of months away, but we’re looking forward to it already.
It seems Samsung is up for the fight, as it delayed the launch of its next Galaxy phone for as long as possible to get closer to the iPhone’s launch.
After months of waiting, and plenty of gossiping, the Galaxy S3 is very nearly here. The press invitations have been sent out, all we have to do now is wait.
The launch for the Galaxy S3 is taking place right here in Britain, in merry old London to be precise, on 22nd May. It’s the first piece of concrete detail we’ve form Samsung, the rest is pure speculation.
But we’ve had even less detail from Apple over its next smartphone – the iPhone 5. Again, we’ve relied on the rumour mill to keep us going.
But with the two devices drawing ever closer, things are about to get pretty heated in the smartphone world. So what do we know about the devices so far?
The rumour mill has not been short on salacious gossip about the S3 in recent months, with all manner of wild speculation flying about.
One juicy morsel of gossip is the S3’s display. Rumoured to have a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen with a resolution of 1280×720, it will be the first non-pentile OLED to reach HD quality on a phone.
We all know that the Apple rumour mill never sleeps, even at night time. The debate over the next-gen iPhone has been raging ever since the 4S was released last year.
In terms of the display, we could be seeing a 4.65-inch screen in the new device – making it the biggest in an iPhone to date. Retina display is pretty much a given, so a bigger screen would look very impressive.
