Samsung Galaxy S3 launch – what else will we see?

The wait is nearly over; the countdown has begun. It is now only a matter of weeks until we see the latest smartphone from Samsung.

That’s right, the Galaxy S3 (the device’s probable name, but who knows these days) has been given a launch date by the South Korean tech giant.

In an invite sent out to members of the press recently, Samsung has urged us all to ‘Come and meet the next Galaxy’.

It is an opportunity no one in the tech world is going to pass up, as we’ve been waiting to see exactly how Samsung is going to follow up the incredibly impressive and hugely successful S2 ever since its release last year.

If the rumours are anything to go by, the Galaxy S3 is shaping up to be a worthy successor. The rumour mill has spouted all sorts of theories about the device – some believable, some downright ludicrous. But is the Galaxy S3 the only thing we’ll see on 3 May?

With the invitation came a raft of fresh speculation about the launch itself, with many reports claiming Samsung will use the opportunity to show us a couple of other products. So what might we see?

Galaxy Tab at S3 launch?

Samsung has launched a full-on assault of the tablet market this year, with the likes of the Galaxy Note 10.1 and the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1).

But it appears the tech giant may not be done yet, as reports suggest we’ll see yet another (completely new) 10.1 inch Galaxy Tab at the London launch.

Apple iCloud competitor at S3 launch?

Cloud computing is everywhere at the moment, and we’ve been waiting for Samsung’s take on the technology for a while now.

It seems 3 May could be when we finally see the service, dubbed S-Cloud, unveiled. According to reports, the service will offer users access to a mix of paid and free content.
