Samsung Galaxy S3 countdown: top Android games

After months of speculation, one of the most eagerly anticipated smartphones of the year, the Samsung Galaxy S3, is very nearly here.

For a long time, we had nothing to go on but leaks from so-called ‘trusted sources’. But now we have something a little more concrete, in the form of a new model number of Samsung’s Global Download Centre web page.

OK, so it’s a little tenuous, but it is in keeping with previous Galaxy releases – both the Galaxy S and the Galaxy S2 appeared on the website prior to launch.

The S3 promises to be one of the phones of the year, featuring a possible dual-core processor and maybe even a bumper 16MP camera.

But if there is one thing that we all love doing on our smartphones, it’s playing games. So with that in mind, what are the best games available on the Android Market?

Sonic The Hedgehog 4: episode 2

This hot-anticipated game has not actually been released yet, but it is due out this year so watch this space! Due for release on PS3 and Xbox 360, Sonic will also be available on Windows Phone, iOS and Android.

Everyone’s favourite blue hedgehog announced his comeback with an incredibly vague trailer last month. All the detail we got was that Sonic would be accompanied by an old friend and an old foe.

Cut The Rope

If you haven’t heard of Cut The Rope, then shame on you! This fantastic and highly addictive game may not have enjoyed the same worldwide fame as the likes of Angry Birds, but it’s just as good.

All you have to do is cut the rope to get the sweet into the frog’s mouth. Sound easy? It is, for about the first three levels.

FIFA 10

A little behind the FIFA console games, this footy game for smartphones still has some impressive graphics and good game play.

Everyone should have at least one football game in their life, and for Android users it has got to be this one. Until the next one comes out that is!
