It appears that Samsung isn’t resting on its laurels when it comes to new product launches, despite only recently debuting the Galaxy S3 Mini, with rumours circulating that Korean firm has another smartphone in the pipeline.
Leaked images of the so-called Galaxy Premier – a model that at first glance bears more than a passing resemblance to the Galaxy S3 – have started doing the rounds.
The device is expected to sit somewhere between the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Nexus, giving Samsung even more coverage of the smartphone spectrum. Here’s what we know about the Galaxy Premier so far.
Samsung Galaxy Premier specs
The Galaxy Premier stated is expected to boast a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED touch-screen, putting it roughly midway between the Galaxy S3 at 4.8-inches and the S3 Mini at 4-inches, with a display resolution of 1280×720 pixels.
The device is also set to be powered by a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor with 1GB of RAM, and operate on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. There is also a decent chance it will come with 4G LTE connectivity.
Later rumours about the device also point to a 2MP front-facing camera, a microSD slot which will allow users to take storage up to 32GB, and an LED flash.
Any truth behind the Galaxy Premier rumours?
The people behind the leak, which emerged on Twitter, appear to be one step ahead of the game, Tweeting about the under-wraps LG Nexus 4, on two occasions, as well as leaking photos of the Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820, as well as some of the HTC One X+.
Given the leakers’ track record, there’s a pretty decent chance that the Premier is in the pipeline – though there was no word on when we’d actually get an announcement.
So it looks like we’ll have to play the waiting game for now to find out if and when Samsung will be launching the Premier.
