Samsung is enjoying a stellar year in 2012, with its mobile devices from 2011 still performing well and the excellent Galaxy S3 being hailed as the phone to beat this year.
One of the South Korean tech giant’s most successful devices of the past twelve months has been the Galaxy Note – the large smartphone-come-tablet.
When the Note was first unveiled in the latter stages of last year, there were doubts about whether a device of such epic proportions would appeal to consumers.
But Samsung kept the faith, and the device proved a hit with customers and business users alike, as well as earning praise from reviewers worldwide.
So it’s no surprise that Samsung is readying the follow-up to the popular ‘phablet’. Concrete details are thin on the ground, but there has been plenty of rumour and speculation. So what are the latest Galaxy Note 2 rumours?

We thought the 5.3-inch screen in the first Note was big enough, but rumours abound of an even larger display in the Note 2.
Not only that, but the device will feature an unbreakable pane, known as UBP, display – a precursor to the flexible display, allowing for a slimmer design.
Samsung Galaxy Note 2 specs
Of course, nothing has been confirmed by Samsung as yet, but the specs for the Galaxy Note 2 are sure to be through the roof.
Reports have suggested that we’ll see a quad-core processor in the device, as well as Google’s yet-to-be-confirmed Android Jelly Bean OS.

With the release of the iPhone 5 expected around October, reports have suggested that Samsung is preparing to go head-to-head with the US tech giant and launch the Note 2 in October as well.
