Samsung ‘Galaxy 3D’ Coming Soon?

Rumours are rife that Samsung may be planning to release a new 3D device, according to information leaked by the Korean News website ETNews.

The new appliance, which may be called “Galaxy 3D”, will compete with the likes of the HTC Evo 3D and the LG Optimus 3D. In order to compete with their rivals, the Samsung version will include plenty of new and exciting innovations.

The new product looks as though it might incorporate a 3D glasses display, two cameras on the back of the device for 3D photography, and a dual-core processor to handle the graphics. This would be an update on the specifications of the current Galaxy S II flagship device.

Keeping the same 1.2GHz dual-core Exynos application processor from its predecessor, the Galaxy S II, this latest version is supposed to be powerful enough to record Full HD 1080p 3D video using its in-built cameras.

Rumours also suggest that the Galaxy 3D will be running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, the most advanced version of Android for handsets.

Samsung, however, are yet to confirm or deny any of these rumours. Nevertheless, the brand has experience in 3D appliances through their manufacture of 3D televisions.

Since its competitors HTC and LG both already have 3D-phones in the market, it’s logical to assume that Samsung will also apply similar technology found in these models to their new Smartphone.

The two current 3D Smartphones, the HTC Evo 3D and the LG Optimus 3D, have very similar specifications. Both devices capture and play photos and videos in 3D, which can be viewed without glasses. Both also have a 4.3-inch qHD display, dual 5MP rear cameras with LED flash and 1MP front camera.

The HTC battery with 1730mAh, however, lasts longer than the LG with 1500mAh. On the other hand, the LG Optimus 3D is a bit more powerful with its OMAP 4330 Processor.

This new Smartphone could be due to launch before the end of the year. Whether all the rumoured specifications turn out to be true or not, only time can tell.

In the meantime, Samsung Smartphone fans will have to wait to see if the latest update lives up to their expectations.
