Rockstar release 2 new screens for GTA 5

Since the trailer for GTA 5 was released back in November last year, there’s been set-back after set-back for the highly anticipated Rockstar title.

Not only did we learn that the game could see a 2013 release date but earlier this week, we reported that GTA 5 could even be a no-show at Gamescom 2012! Something that we’re sure would NOT go down too well with fans.

There is some ‘promising’ news though because Rockstar have release a few screens for us to salivate over until we get something to actually be excited about.

“We are very busy working on the game! Everything is going well, but the game is a huge project. We should have more information and some new assets for you soon.”

Heard that old chestnut before…

The screens come courtesy of a Q&A between fans and Rockstar reps in which one fan in particular (and appropriately) named ‘Mouthoff’ asked the publisher quite simply “Why don’t you give us more news?” to which Rockstar replied:

“As we have said before, we have often had long gaps between asset releases on previous games and will continue to do so in the future. We are sorry if you find this frustrating, but please understand, we don’t do this because we ‘don’t care about our fans’ ‘don’t respect our fans’ ‘hate GTA fans etc’ – precisely the opposite! We do it because we want to make sure we only release 100% correct information, and because we want to keep plenty back for the actual game release so there are still lots of surprises when you play it.”

Rockstar went on to say they will:

“try and get some more screens for you soon and then another trailer when we are ready.”

No hurry then… take your time!

I’d like to tell you here that the GTA 5 release date is ________ but your guess is as good as mine!
