Resident Evil 6 trailers – what you need to know

We’ve had a fantastic summer (dreadful weather aside), but now the autumn is drawing in we all have just one thing on our mind – new games!

All manner of exciting titles are due to hit our consoles in the coming weeks and months, and one we’re really excited about is the latest Resident Evil installment.

Resident Evil 6 is due to launch on Sony PS3 and Xbox 360 on October 2, and Capcom has given gamers a taste of what they can expect through a series of tantalising trailers.

Resident Evil 6 will pick up where its predecessor left off, with the world under constant threat of a bio-terrorist attack and little hope that anything can be done to tackle the situation.

Facing the situation head on are the game’s protagonists, Bio-terrorism Security Assessment Alliance member Chris Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy, a personal friend of the US president and a survivor of a viral outbreak in 1998 that led to Raccoon City being obliterated by a missile strike.

More than 10 years on, Resident Evil 6 will be left to pick up the pieces of this uncertain world. Here’s what we can expect from the game.

Resident Evil 6: The Official Trailer

The official trailer shows scenes of devastation and destruction with burning buildings, police patrols and chaos in the streets.

With the closing scene showing two hands being ripped apart by a blast, it seems that Chris and Leon will have their work cut out to ensure that all is right with the world.

Resident Evil 6: No Hope Left cinematic trailer

We have also been treated to a cinematic trailer, which brings the doomsday scenario to life with people waiting out the storm in underground bunkers or gathering in the town square to make a final desperate plea for their lives to an unknown god.

The two trailers for Resident Evil 6 have only served to fuel the flames of our excitement. The graphics look flawless, the storyline looks epic, and the gameplay is sure to not disappoint. Roll on October 2!
