Rambo game gets a questionable trailer and 3 new screens

Reef Entertainment have released a new trailer for the forthcoming Rambo video game.

The strange thing though, is that the trailer doesn’t actually feature any in-game footage. Instead, the 50 second trailer is a highlight reel of footage taken from the films. Great as a trailer for the DVD box set maybe, but not the best way to get folks excited about the game.

Take a look at the ‘trailer’ below.

Screenshots offer more

As well as the questionable ‘game trailer’, Reef Entertainment have also released three screenshots which do at least show us a glimpse of the digital Rambo world.

Titled ‘Hope’, ‘Soviet Base’ and ‘Village’, the screenshots show an explosion scene in the jungle, a town scene with sheriff station and cop cars and a night scene at an army base complete with search lights. None get the WOW factor but at least its a start!

Craig Lewis, Commercial Director of Reef Entertainment had this to say:

“For ‘Rambo The Video Game’ we are concentrating on authenticity to the films, variety of action and explosive gameplay sequences. By matching classic fixed-perspective play to a contemporary game engine we believe we can deliver a game that matches the pace and action set-piece diversity of the films. In case anyone needs reminding of what the original ‘one-man-army’ John Rambo is capable of, we have – in association with StudioCanal – prepared a short highlight reel of John Rambo in action from the classic movies.”
