If like me, you’re nervous about using the traditional methods of oil chip pans, which are notorious for being the cause of fires in our homes, then you’ll be pleased to know that this fryer from Philips works with Rapid Air Technology to cook your food.
How It Works
In other words, it works by circulating 200 degrees of air around your food and browns them off with up to 80 percent less fat than the traditional method of frying.
The AirFryer works like a large rice cooker, and has a chunky tray which can be removed, filled with food and put back inside to cook.
Easy To Use
It was unbelievably easy to use and I could take advantage of cooking more than one type of food simultaneously thanks to the divider that slots in the middle of the removable tray.
So, all I had to do was, plug it in to the mains, turn it on, set the temperature to the correct heat with the dial at the top, set the timer using the dial on the front and wait for the bottom light to go off when it had reached its temperature before adding my food to the tray.
When the fryer was ready, all I had to do was press the button on the handle, slide out the tray, put my ingredients in and shut the tray.
All that was left to do was give my food a shake half way through and then wait for the bell to go off when the food was cooked!
I made a batch of handmade chips which needed just half a spoonful of oil and took 12 minutes to cook. Along side the chips, I used the divider to cook some tasty hicken goujouns.
No Nasty Smells
Another credit to this fryer is that it has an air filter so, no matter how much it tastes like fried food, it wont make your house smell like a chip shop!

But, the magic doesn’t stop there, it can cook everything from chicken and chips to the most delicious cakes in under 25 minutes!
If you are stuck for ideas, you’ll be pleased to know that this fryer also comes complete with a fab recipe book for inspirational ideas so you don’t need to stick to chips and goujouns! Plus, it also comes with a quick set up and timing guide to help you on your way.
So, in under 15 minutes I had delicious golden chips and crispy chicken goujons!
It was refreshingly easy to clean this fryer after cooking. All I had to do was pull out the drawer and remove the basket and divider so that I could rinse them all off with soapy water. And that was it. No mess and no fuss!
