Samsung Galaxy S2 owners rejoice!.. Well, as long as you’re an O2 customer.
O2 have taken to their Twitter account to reveal that Samsung Galaxy S2 customers will officially be able to upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich from today through the magic of Samsung’s Kies device management software.
A spokesperson from O2 stated:
“Update from the press office at O2 is that Ice Cream Sandwich is out on the S2 from this morning.”
So how do you get the update? Just connect your O2 GS2 device to Kies, check for updates and download. Simples!
Tasty Ice Cream Goodness…
With the Ice Cream Sandwich update comes a whole host of changes, improvements and bug-fixes which include some of the most significant updates seen so far on Google’s platform.

…But Only for Some
O2 are now the second UK operator to roll out the ICS update beaten to the punch only by Three Mobile making it’s upgrade available to customers last week.
Own an S2 on T-Mobile, Orange or Vodafone? Or own a SIM-free S2? Unfortunately it looks like you’ll have to wait a bit longer!
Worry not though because latest news on the street is that Orange will be rolling out the ICS update “sometime in April”, T-Mobile have no timescale but are “hard at work” and Vodafone are “still testing”. Basically about as helpful as Wayne Rooney at the Large Hadron Colider.
