With the launch of the console still a few months away, we’ve been given a look at what titles the Nintendo Wii U might include.
The exciting revelation comes courtesy of Blockbuster, as a screenshot from the retailer’s internal system appears to show a list of 25 titles for the Wii U’s launch.
Of course, there’s no way of knowing if the screenshots are real, or indeed the information in the shots is correct. So as with any tech rumour, take this one with a pinch or two of salt.
That’s not to say it isn’t a tantalising revelation, with some big name games included on the list that we’ve not seen on a Nintendo system before.
Nintendo Wii U titles
With 25 titles on the list, there were always going to be a few no-brainers, with the likes of Just Dance 4 and Pikmin not really a surprise.
We were more interested in the ‘proper’ games that were included on the list. We’re not saying that various Nintendo systems don’t have good games, but it’s always been more of a casual gamer’s console.
But it looks like all that might be about to change, come the autumn (or whenever exactly the Wii U is released).
In amongst the long list of titles we found Assassin’s Creed, Splinter Cell 5, Batman: Arkham City, Darksiders II, and Ninja Gaiden 3.
Wii U needs to be a success for Nintendo
It’s fair to say that the Wii U needs to be a success for Nintendo, especially with the Xbox 720 and PS4 (hopefully) hitting out stores next year.
But with a launch title line-up like this, the console shouldn’t have any problems luring some of those Nintendo-sceptics.
The Wii U is due out in time for Christmas this year, with an exact launch date expected to be known after the console has been given another showing at E3.
