There may be a lot going on this year, from the Olympics to the Euros to the end of the world. But for many gaming fans the end of 2012 can’t come soon enough.
Not because we’re concerned that the Mayans were right after all, but because the end of 2012 means the next generation of consoles.
We have no confirmation of when we’ll see the Xbox 720 and PS4, but the Wii U looks set to get a release before the end of the year.
It’s an exciting prospect for anyone who loves gaming. But it’ll be extra special for fans of Nintendo, because it will be the first time some big titles will be available on the system. So what never-before-seen games (on Nintendo at least) can we expect on the Wii U?
Assassin’s Creed 3
The latest Assassins Creed (above) has been three years in the making, and is set to be the biggest title yet. Set in the American Revolution, we’ll also see a brand new assassin.
Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge
Another confirmed game for the Wii U, Ninja Gaiden 3 is due for release on Xbox and Playstation later this month.
Batman: Arkham City
This critically-acclaimed title was released in the latter stages of last year, and was easily one of the games of the year. It has now been confirmed for the Wii U, so what are you waiting for Nintendo? Get that console released!
