Nintendo 3DS launch games revealed

Nintendo has announced the exciting range of games that will go on sale alongside its new 3DS handheld console.

The much-anticipated device hits the UK on March 25 and will have a whopping THIRTEEN full 3D games available from day one.

In a list that promises something for everyone, there’s plenty of familiar favourite titles alongside classics and newbies designed especially for the 3D technology behind the little machine.

If you don’t already know about the 3DS, then here’s a quick reminder.

It’s a 3D handheld console, the follow-up to the best-selling Nintendo DS, and the best thing is… you don’t need to wear special glasses to see the awesome graphical effects.

Nintendo has warned children under six should not use the machine however in the 3D mode, as their eye muscles may not have fully formed yet.

The 3DS also comes with THREE cameras to take a picture of you while playing and also has two lenses to capture 3D images and turn your head and shoulders into a Mii character, like those on the Nintendo Wii.

It’s available in either Cosmos Black or Aqua Blue and features a Depth Slider to adjust the
level of 3D visuals to a comfortable viewing point.

The top screen shows the 3D images while the bottom touchscreen makes use of a stylus
stored in the unit itself.

Get into the games

Among the highlights of the games out for launch include PILOTWINGS RESORT, a flying adventure putting your Mii in the cockpit for 40 challenging missions.

There’s also the massively-popular NINTENDOGS, now in 3D, and with the addition of CATS!

So now you can look after virtual doggys and moggys and thanks to the graphics, it’ll feel
like you’re able to touch your computerised pet.

The face-angled camera will also allow you to interact with the animals and let them LICK YOU!

I’m particularly looking forward to the latest version of classic arcade beat ‘em-up Street Fighter, called SUPER STREET FIGHTER IV 3D EDITION.

With 35 characters, bonus stages and all those combo moves, you’ll also be able to fight online with friends through multiplayer.

Football fans will also be cheering from the stands on March 25 when the handheld goes on sale because PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER 3D will also be kicking off that same day.
