If you find the idea of social networking just a little bit too friendly, and lacking some of the innate hatred we all have for certain things, then we have some good news.
A new Facebook app has been launched that lets you create a list of enemies, to sit alongside your list of friends.
Called EnemyGraph, the app lets you name anything on Facebook as your enemy. So that could be a person, a product, a business or a band.
Not only that, but if there is one person or thing that really pushes your anger buttons, then you can designate them an archenemy.
Facebook Enemies
But far from being a device for spreading hatred throughout the social network sphere, EnemyGraph’s creators have said the app is more about sparking conversation and forming different kinds of bonds.
“Most social networks attempt to connect people based on affinities: you like a certain band or film or sports team, I like them, therefore we should be friends,” wrote Dean Terry, the app’s creator, in a blog post ahead of the launch.
“But people are also connected and motivated by things they dislike. Alliances are created, conversations are generated, friendships are stressed, stretched, and/or enhanced.”
The new app has already received a lot of media attention, and is sure to do well. After all, the human race loves to hate something.
Facebook Dislike Button
As soon as a ‘Like’ button was introduced to Facebook, people were calling for a ‘Dislike’ button to be introduced. The Facebook group dedicated to such a feature has more than three million members.
No such feature has ever appeared, so fans of disliking things will surely jump at the chance to make some enemies.
So what are the top trending enemies at the moment? Justin Beiber, McDonalds and God are just a couple of things making enemies at the moment.
