Netflix, the leading global Internet movie subscription service, is coming to the UK in 2012.

The launch of the new service in the UK will give British and Irish consumers the opportunity to watch unlimited TV shows and movies streaming instantly over the Internet to TVs and computers for one low monthly subscription price.

The service allows streaming on TVs, as well as on PCs, Macs and mobile tablets and phones.  In total, more than 700 devices are available that stream from Netflix, including the Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and Sony PS3 consoles; as well as Blu-ray disc players, the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, as well as Apple TV and Google TV.

Netflix has been streaming to US consumers since 2007, adding Canada in 2010 and 43 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean in September 2011. Although UK pricing has yet to be revealed, in the US, consumers pay just $7.99 a month to instantly watch unlimited movies and TV shows.

Netflix had 25 million subscribers at the end of June 2011. People interested in becoming members of Netflix in the UK or Ireland can go to to sign up to receive an email alert letting them know when Netflix has launched in their country.

iPhone , iPad and iPod Touch Digital TV Streaming

If you are looking to stream digital TV on the move, you may want to consider downloading the tizi app.

The app uses a pocket-sized digital TV receiver and a free app to let you watch and record live digital TV and radio on any modern iPad, iPod Touch or iPhone. tizi is the first product of it’s kind for Apple mobile devices, and is a great way to watch TV while travelling.

It should give you a clear stable signal under much worse conditions than even 3G can manage, and the advantages of watching something really live makes this a winner in my eyes.
