Apple may unleash the iPad 3 in early February, according to the latest reports to hit the internet.
Yes, Wikipedia may be on blackout today but that other bastion of not-always-entirely-correct internet facts, the Apple rumour mill, is still going strong.
Today’s rumour comes from occasionally correct Japanese Apple news site Macotakara, which claims that Asian suppliers and “American intelligence sources” are gearing up for an early February launch event, followed by an iPad 3 release date of early March.
Shocker
Alongside the much anticipated iPad 3, these sources seem convinced we’ll see iOS 5.1 come out of beta in March too.
Rumoured upgrades for the iPad 3 include a faster processor, LTE compatibility, a super-high-res display and perhaps just a millimetre or two more on the thickness side of things.
Of course, it’s all dressing up and make believe until we get that official invite from Apple itself – something we were already expecting to receive in February or March anyway.
