A few weeks ago Jeff Bezos of Amazon unveiled the new Kindle line-up, featuring the new keyboardless 4th generation Kindle, the Kindle Touch, and the Kindle Fire tablet. The old 3rd generation Kindle was renamed Kindle Keyboard.

Best Kindle options in the UK

The only ones looking likely to make it across the pond before Christmas are the basic Kindle and, of course, the Kindle Keyboard. That’s not such a bad thing as the Kindle Touch has been getting some mixed reviews, and the Kindle Fire is a rather different media player, with a normal iPad-style screen rather than the easier to read e-ink screen of the other models. What does that mean? Basically, the two best ‘real’ Kindles are available in the UK now.

Amazon Kindle 4 or Kindle Keyboard, which is best?

Now we’ve had a chance to play with the new Kindle for a while, we don’t think there’s much to choose between them. Most people should get the basic Kindle – it’s lighter, a bit faster, and the onscreen keyboard is pretty good.
