Puro iPhone 4/4S Golf Flipper CaseRating:
Look and feel
For just €19,99 (around £15), I was skeptical (to say the least) that the Puro Golf Flipper Case would be any good. I was wrong.
First things first, the case looks great, is available in 4 colour combinations, and is exactly what you’d expect from an Italian company which specialises in stylish, modern accessories for smartphones and tablets.
Secondly, I was immediately impressed with the overall build quality and the magnetic snap-shut seal which applies just the right amount of force to shut tightly and still be easy enough to undo in a pinch.
Lastly, the perforated eco-leather case is soft to the touch but still manages to retain a decent level of grip so that it’s easy to retrieve from a pocket or bag in a hurry.
Whilst I was initially put off by the ‘full phone cover’ and flip-over seal (having always opted for just a rear casing), I soon got used to flipping open the Puro Golf Flipper Case to use my iPhone 4S.
One thing that I loved about the Puro Golf Flipper Case was that I need not worry about what else was in my pocket or bag before throwing it in. In the past I’d have to make sure that my iPhone wouldn’t come into contact with anything remotely sharp for fear of scratching the screen. Something I’d failed to do on a few occasions resulting in a number of small scratches and abrasions.
The only problem I had with the Golf Flipper Case was that on some occasions when removing the phone from a tight pocket in a rush, the magnetic seal could either get stuck on a seam or open askew. Not a huge issue but something that could have been improved by a ‘popper style’ seal.
With some designer cases on the market today (especially for iPhone 4S) you can find that the camera hole on the rear panel can cause misting when using the flash. Not the case with the Puro Golf Flipper. Pictures came out perfectly in all conditions.
- Looks great
- Sturdy build quality
- Choice of colours
- Magnetic seal sometimes gets caught on things
Overall, the Puro Golf Flipper Case was a pleasure to use on a daily basis.
The Italian styling caught a few people’s intrigue and my initial concern about the flip cover was put to rest early on.
For around £15, you’d be hard pressed to find a better case.
