It is fair to say that HTC will want to forget the last twelve months. What started out so promising for the Taiwanese tech giant has now turned a little sour.
Of course, things are never as bad as they seem from the outside. HTC is still enjoying profits, just not of the sort it is hoping for.
Last year started so well for HTC, with a decent turn at Mobile World Congress. But by the end of 2011 profits has slumped somewhat – a trait that has continued into 2012.
But HTC fans, fear not! The tech giant has a couple of tricks up its sleeve, in the form of the One Series – featuring two of the hottest devices in the smartphone world right now.
The HTC One X and One S have just been released into the wild here in the UK. You can either pick them up SIM-free, or wait just a few more days to get them on contract with T-Mobile. So what do you need to know about these exciting handsets?
HTC One X
The daddy of the One series, the One X is a smartphone that any manufacturer would be proud of. HTC has outdone itself in terms of design, delivering a smooth, curved device that is as lightweight as it is sexy.
The One X also impresses on the inside, with a quad-core Tegra 3 processor and a first for HTC – Ice Cream Sandwich as standard. There is also an 8MP camera to make use of the Super LCD screen.
HTC One S
Sitting in the middle of the One Series’ range, the One S is another very impressive device. Looking just as sleek as the One X, the One S has a vibrant qHD resolution display.
Powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, and also featuring ICS, the One S is really living up to the promises made by HTC.
