Halo 4 trailer – What can we expect?

The trailer for the forthcoming Halo 4 is to be released on 18 October, giving us a taste of what we can expect from the game on upon its release on 6 November.

Produced in collaboration with the directors behind titles including The Fight Club, The Social Network, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, the trailer is set be one of the biggest of the year.

343 Industries has teamed up with Hollywood directors David Fincher and Tim Miller to give a teasing look at the game that Microsoft describes as marking a “new beginning” for the series. Miller said:

“I’m excited about the opportunity to direct the Halo 4 launch. Halo is one of the most iconic sci-fi universes, with a depth that allows for amazingly cinematic and emotionally riveting stories. The chance to tell a story that explores never-before-seen facets of Master Chief’s journey is an honour.”

Halo 4 trailer details

The trailer will premier during an episode of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon in the US, and simultaneously on the Halo Waypoint website.

Titled Scanned, the trailer was filmed in Prague and is set to shed light on the backstory of Master Chief as well as offering an insight into the threat that he will come up against in Halo 4.

According to Miller, Scanned will:

“deliver a blockbuster, Hollywood-quality trailer that raises the bar for the award-winning legacy of live-action Halo storytelling and gets fans stoked for the return of Master Chief.”

Halo 4: What we know so far

The latest round of expect features for Halo 4 include new and improved noises on pre-existing weapons, such as the rocket launcher, shotgun, pistol and DMR as well as raft of new weapons including a one-shot-kill rail gun and a sticky grenade launcher.

This in addition to eight specialisation options, designed to “make the play experience months and even years after release feel fresh.”
