Halo 4, GTA 5, Uncharted… top game trailers for 2012

We may not have had Christmas just yet, but in the tech world 2011 is so last year. As ever, we are looking ahead to what’s coming next.

So what about the world of gaming? As you probably know, video games are set to continue their dominance in the entertainment market in 2012.

We have new consoles from Sony and Nintendo, and maybe even one from Microsoft (although don’t hold us to that), and of course whole host of amazing new games.

So what titles can we look forward to in 2012? Here is our pick of the most tantalising video game trailers out there.

Final Fantasy XIII-2

This trailer and others was released earlier this year, and we’ve been counting down to the release date, in early 2012, ever since.

The sequel to Final Fantasy XIII, this one takes place five years beforehand with a darker, edgier storyline. And judging from the trailer, this will be a masterpiece of design.

Uncharted 3: Golden Abyss on PS Vita

The Uncharted series has been one of the success stories of 2011, and this is due to carry on into 2012 when it gets its first run-out as a mobile game.

Due for release with the launch of Sony’s new handheld console the PS Vita in February, Uncharted looks just as epic as ever.

Halo 4

John ‘Master Chief’ 117 is back in action for the impressive-looking Halo 4. Fans of the series have had to wait too long for the next Halo game, but it looks like it’ll all be worth it.

Rumoured to the first of a trilogy of titles, Halo 4 looks set to be released towards the end of 2012. So it’s still a way off, but getting closer!

It’s been four years since the awesome GTA 4 was released, doesn’t time fly? So we are long-overdue another GTA title, and Rockstar Games don’t look like disappointing us.

The trailer for GTA 5 gives little away, all we know is that it will probably return to Los Santos. But you can pretty much guarantee that it will be another fantastic game.
