First Look at the Nintendo Wii U

The Nintendo Wii U has just made its debut at the recent E3 Expo 2011 in LA. Find out more about this exciting new gaming device.

So what exactly is the Nintendo Wii U?

Well it’s a home entertainment device that you can use with a Nintendo’s next console.

The new gaming device is basically a Wii but with a crazy new controller. The most important and special thing about this controller is that smack bang in the middle you have a 6.2 inch screen.

The controller looks similar to a portable tablet combined with a massive version of the Sony NGP.

It’s a game pad which has two analogue circle pads and all the buttons needed for a standard control.   The controller features a camera pointing at you and a small speaker and if that wasn’t enough there is also a built in microphone.

The Nintendo Wii U doesn’t feature the 3D technology that the 3DS but the touchscreen does make it more attractive. The touch screen is 16:9  and the motion-senses feature gyroscope technology.

The motion sensors work with the gyro sensors to move your viewpoint, for example if you were playing a game driving a car, it would seem like you were actually moving within the car being able to look up and down and from side to side.

Taking you on an epic gaming journey the Nintendo Wii U also has full HD graphics and will blow game players minds.  As for game play the device is compatible with several Wiimotes allowing interplay between the two types of controls.

The device has an internal flash memory and the controller is rechargeable. The Nintendo Wii U will be available between April and December  2012.  Prices are yet to be announced.
