Top tips for writing a review

Think of your PluggedIn review as a detailed road test of your product. Aim to write around 300 to 600 words and give as much detailed opinion as you can about both the good and bad features of the product. Here’s some advice to get you started:

  1. Write about an electrical appliance or gadget you have detailed experience with.
  2. Write at least 300 words.
  3. Start off with a summary, explaining why you brought the product and what you hoped to get out of it.
  4. Be honest and fair. No product is perfect so make sure people understand the positive and negative.
  5. Tell us your first impressions when you got it out of the box. Was it well presented? Did it work straight away?
  6. Was it easy to use or did you get lost in a manual?
  7. List the things you like most and least about it. What would you change?
  8. How does it compare with similar products you’ve used?
  9. End with your verdict. Would you recommend the product?
  10. Try to include some video you’ve shot of the product, or some photos you’ve taken.
