ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime – next-generation tablet revealed

Can’t decide between a tablet and a laptop? Perhaps you need an ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime.

ASUS have released the first details of the Transformer Prime, the follow-up to the original Eee Pad Transformer tablet, once again featuring a keyboard dock to let you switch between laptop and tablet modes.

Eee Pad Transformer Prime features

According to ASUS, the Prime is “blazing fast”, and boasts NVIDIA’s next-generation quad-core Tegra mobile chip – codenamed project Kal-El – to make multitasking and HD movies a “piece of cake”.

The tablet will also feature a 10″ display, an SD card port, and mini-HDMI. It’s 8.3mm thick and the battery will last 14.5 hours. We know the tablet will run the Android OS, but there’s no word yet on whether it will launch with the latest “Ice Cream Sandwich” version.

We also don’t know when the tablet will hit stores, but expect more details during the official launch on 9 November.
