Assassin’s Creed 3 includes 60 minutes of exclusive content for PS3

If you’re looking forward to Assassin’s Creed 3 and own a PS3, you’re in luck!

News of an extra 60 minutes of exclusive game-play broke after Amazon.co.uk updated the product shot for the forthcoming Ubisoft title to the one shown below.

PC, Xbox 360 and Wii U customers might not be best pleased though, as the label on the updated shot clearly states ‘PS3 EXCLUSIVE EDITION’.

Earlier this year at the E3 Expo, Ubisoft stated in their key-note presentation that this would be the case for the PS3 version of the game. Now we have confirmation.

What will the extra content include?

Although the E3 Ubisoft presentation did hint at four additional single-player missions for PS3, there’s still no ‘official’ word on what the missions might cover or what players will have to do.

What we do know though, (thanks to the image above) is that theses four missions will take players approximately 60 minutes to complete.

What else do we know?

Set in North America over a 30 year period starting in 1777, players will become Connor Kenway, a soldier fighting against the British in the American war of Independence.

This will be the first time in the Assassin’s Creed series that the game has been given new surroundings and a new protagonist.

Another welcome addition is Ubisoft’s new game engine AnvilNext. Not only does AnvilNext have the ability to create amazingly detailed changing landscape scenes but it can also render literally thousands of characters at time. Take a look at the awesome official AnvilNext trailer below and see for yourself!

Assassin’s Creed 3 is due for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on October 30th 2012.

In addition, Assassin’s Creed: Liberation for PS Vita will see a release around the same time. Players who purchase Liberation will be able to unlock more ‘extra content’ on Assassin’s Creed 3.
