Apple iPhone 5 – What do we want to see?

Anticipation surrounding the launch of the Apple incoming iPhone 5 is mounting, with details of a launch date expected to be revealed at press event on September 12.

Rumours about the device’s expected features and specs, which include 4G LTE capabilities and Airplay Direct, have been circulating for months.

Now a new survey has revealed the ‘must-have’ features that we Brits want to see included on the new smartphone.

The results of the survey showed that 21% of the UK population would consider purchasing the iPhone 5, while 67% of current iPhone owners said they are likely to upgrade to the new model at a future date.

Apple iPhone 5: Battery life is key

The survey found that the British public have “high expectations” for the iPhone 5, with extended battery life a key priority for both existing and would-be iPhone owners.

A desire for a good battery life in the next-gen iPhone is hardly a surprise, as many 4S users experienced battery issues.

More than a third of non-iPhone users said that they wanted better battery life in the iPhone 5, rising to 67% for existing iPhone owners.

Apple iPhone 5: NFC and internet connectivity

4G connectivity, which is due to hit the UK in the very near future, is a feature that a third of respondents are keen to see on the iPhone 5.

For almost a quarter of survey participants, Near Field Communications (NFC) and wireless payment capabilities are high up on their wish list for the iPhone.

More than 40% of those surveyed are also hoping for a larger screen size on the iPhone 5, a wish that – if rumours are to be believed – will come true.

It seems our hopes and wishes for the iPhone 5 are pretty simple – we want it bigger and better, basically. Roll on September 12!
