Apple’s much hyped new tablet and smartphone could hit the market together with a joint debut on 12 September, according to the latest reports.
Although Apple has performed several nips and tucks to the iPad and the iPhone over the last two years the launch on the iPhone 5 and iPad Mini is set to signal a major update for Apple’s innovative range of products.
Users may have just six short weeks to wait until they can get a chance to view the sixth generation iPhone, which will receive a radical overall for the first time in five years. The rumoured iPad Mini, at just 7-inches is also set to offer usability that matches up to its full-sized rivals.
Reports have suggested that both products will go on sale nine days later, on 21 September, which matches Apple’s tradition of getting a device to market shortly after the official launch date.
Apple iPad Mini – more than just a rumour?
The iPad Mini is expected to feature a 7.85-inch screen and a 330ppi, 7.85-inch IGZO display. The tablet is also set to launch with a price tag of between $200 and $250. But will it ever see the light of day?
Forbes columnist Brian Caulfield said:
“The fact Google’s 7-inch tablet has done so well since its earlier this month only ups the odds Apple will respond. And if, as rumoured, Apple does launch a compact version of its iPad tablet computer, it will almost certainly crush Google’s Nexus 7.”
Apple iPhone 5
The iPhone 5 is set to have a screen size of 4 inches and feature a smaller 19-pin connector port, as well as featuring a new case design.
The excitement around the device is growing with every passing day, and the buzz has been blamed on Apple’s recent sales under-performance.
But there’s no cause for concern in Apple’s camp, as the joint-unveiling is likely to lead to one of Apple’s strongest performances ever – and that’s really saying something.
