Apple iPad 3 countdown: top games for the iPad

The iPad 3 hype is reaching fever pitch now, as more and more rumours circulate that we’ll be seeing it in February.

And now we’ve had a leaked photo of the device itself. Well, what is claimed to be a photo of the device. It looks real, but experience has taught us never to believe our eyes when it comes to tech leaks.

But one thing is for sure, the iPad 3 will be here at some point this year, and more than likely in the next couple of months.

So with that pretty vague guarantee in mind, we decided to take look at some of the best gaming apps for the iPad, so you’ll know just what to download when the iPad 3 comes along.

GTA 3 on iPad

What better place to start than with one of the most iconic games of the past 20 years? GTA 3 was a revelation when it came out just over ten years ago, and now it has come to the iPad.

And Rockstar has, as usual, delivered the goods. The game has been transferred to the iPad sublimely, with the touchscreen controls working perfectly.

Infinity Blade

This game has won a tonne of awards, and rightly so. Also available on the iPhone, Infinity Blade looks best on the iPad.

Great visuals, epic battles and an incredibly immersive story make Infinity Blade a must-have for any iPad gamer out there.

Asphalt 6: Adrenaline HD

No look at games would be complete without a driving title, and Asphalt 6 is one of the best out there at the moment.

The developers say this one was designed with the iPad in mind, and one look at the graphics tells you they weren’t lying. With rich colours, detailed textures and cinematic angles, this game is in a league of its own.
