Acer ICONIA – Next Generation Tablet

An innovative new tablet PC is set to make waves on the technology market as it makes it even easier to do two things at once.

Acer America Corp’s ICONIA was a finalist in CNET’s Best of CES awards, praised for its unique dual screen design.

Boasting two 14-inch HD displays and a full range of intuitive and user friendly features and applications, the ICONIA aims to fit into and enhance the busy lives of many.

The dual screen improves readability of web sites, documents, multimedia applications, entertainment, communication and web browsing. It is also perfect for multi-tasking as the user can do one thing on one screen and something else on the other one.

“We’re passionate about technology’s ability to simplify and enhance people’s lives,” said Jenda Chen, Acer America product management director.

“We’re looking forward to seeing it emerge as a popular choice among consumers in the burgeoning tablet category.”

Acer ICONIA Features

The Acer Ring allows users to launch applications by scrolling through the application card and tapping the one they want. Users have access to a virtual keyboard, Gesture Editor, Windows Manager and Device Control Console.

Other Tablets on the Market

Other popular tablet devices on the market include the first to break the industry, the Apple iPad.

The Apple iPad Wi-Fi 64GB offers users the best way to search the web while on the go; it has 64 GB of storage, a battery life of up to 10 hours and built in speakers.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab is another new competitor, using the Android interface instead.

This model is more compact than the Apple iPad but has a large 7 inch screen so you can watch your favourite movies on a long haul flight, speak to friends via social networks, or listen to music on the go.
